Investigo escenarios del mundo vegetal y relaciones entre especies, el devenir de los vivientes como un hecho cósmico. Me interesa esa comunión, los intersticios entre el origen, la transformación y la muerte.
Me interpelan las distintas formas de la materia, sus modos de expandirse, de estar y de hacer mundo. Las alianzas, las mutaciones, la simbiosis, lo híbrido, las velocidades, las estrategias y las maneras de afectarse entre las poblaciones. Saber que son heroicos habitantes milenarios, colonizadores que supieron encontrar vida donde nadie puede alcanzarla.
Trabajo la pequeña joya, el tesoro, la miniatura como un eslabón de algo más grande. Me interesa narrar los pliegues de esos microcosmos fantásticos, la ambigüedad entre la aparente fragilidad y lo resistente, entre lo aéreo y lo subterráneo. Como en el proceso de ósmosis, mi obra intenta ser una membrana permeable de influencias recíprocas.
En mi dibujo registro los sucesos que se multiplican en la naturaleza, espeluznantes, mínimos y bellos. A través de tramas y texturas exploro la metamorfosis como un artilugio de las formas. Encuentro a través de los distintos tipos de cera y metales, provenientes del mundo de la joyería, una zona alquímica, un dispensador de formas sutiles.
Los ejemplares que diseño integran una misma genealogía: describen la maravilla, protegen lo minúsculo y alojan el exotismo que silenciosamente nos rodea.
I investigate vegetal worlds and interspecies relations, exploring the becoming of living beings as a cosmic phenomenon. I am drawn to that communion — the interstices between origin, transformation, and death.
I am compelled by the various states of matter, its ways of expanding, inhabiting, and shaping worlds. Alliances, mutations, symbiosis, hybridity, temporalities, strategies, and the modes through which populations affect one another. I see them as heroic, millenary inhabitants — colonizers that have learned to find life where nothing else can reach.
I work with the small jewel, the treasure, the miniature as a link within something larger. I am interested in narrating the folds of these fantastic microcosms, in the ambiguity between apparent fragility and resilience, between the aerial and the subterranean. Like in the process of osmosis, my work seeks to become a permeable membrane for reciprocal influences.
In my drawings, I record the events that multiply in nature — uncanny, minute, and beautiful. Through intricate patterns and textures, I explore metamorphosis as a device of form. Working with different types of wax and metals, drawn from the world of jewelry, I approach an alchemical zone — a dispenser of subtle shapes.
The specimens I design belong to the same genealogy: they describe wonder, protect the minuscule, and shelter the quiet exoticism that constantly surrounds us.
